Cyberspace

Alright, I had a few pictures I was going to post from my first night at the bar last weekend, and a pic of me and a friend hanging at a casting... don't ask me what happened. They disappeared! Ugh, cyberspace. Sorry guys.

Well, anywho. The bar was cool, entertaining. The crew/staff are really great people with fun attitudes. Enthusiastic to be around. Its a fun atmosphere - it helps to walk away from the night with a good chunk in change. Good grocery/cab cash. The manager was really pleased with me. I talked to the owner on Wednesday and he set me up to work on Super Bowl Sunday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it will be a good day/night for tips. Ill have to choose my team wisely =)

Other than that, there's not too much excitement going on these days. There's lots of snow/ice on the ground now, was falling all night a few days ago. I'm just working on everyday normal things, a few castings, etc. Gym classes. Poking around productivity, really.

I think I'm fighting another sick day, I don't know why I'm so prone to virus' lately... I never got sick in Cali. Anyways, lots of vitas and trying to sleep it off, I can't afford to be under-the-weather.

Miss you all, sorry I neglected you this week. I had time to write, just nothing really worth writing about. Im hoping this changes very soon! xoxo

Raising the bar?

What a day it has been! oooooo the chaos lol

I awoke at 5am for a 6am personal training session at my gym .... mind you, my personal trainer is also a Professional Bodybuilder - yeah, I wasn't worried at all =) Actually though, he turned out to be amazing. He knew exactly what I was looking for and steared clear of all the bulking exercises that I DONT need.

I got home from that around 7:30 and jumped in the shower. Then I attacked craigslist classifieds with a vengeance...desperately looking for a part-time job. After emailing a few different posts with inquiries, I received a response back requesting an interview later in the afternoon. Sweeeeeet.

I had a casting to head to and then I made my way over to the interview. It's a sports bar/all-american restaurant (burgers, steak, etc.) Its a super fun atmosphere inside, laid back and relaxed. Not like those skeezy clubs I've seen. Long story short, say hello to Manhattan's newest, uneducated, female bartender/cocktail waitress! Funny, huh? Try picturing the scene with me in the middle ... you'll see why I think so. We shall see what happens, there is the high probability of making good money that will really help my stress-pinched nerves. Although the shifts are graveyard, I can't afford anything normal because I have to be available for castings/work during the day. My first shift is this Saturday pm into the am. I am scheduled to arrive a few hours earlier so that I can be introduced to the bar and their way of service. Hope I'm as quick a study as I made myself out to be! =)

I know its totally random, but I really think this could be the Lord's way of providing for my needs right now. I need fast cash in preparation for international excursions ... augmenting income is the only way to make that happen. I hope its all for the best!

Just a peak at the weather, and my walk down 50th St for a casting today.

I passed Rockefeller Center where a decent crowd gathered to watch the 44th President's Inaugural Address. Unfortunately, I caught only a brief breath of Obama's segment, as I was on my way in to the casting. I paused for a moment afterward to take in the historical moment.

After a very beneficial meeting with my agent, Chris and I met up for nice warm tea and then a walk down the infamous Canal St. ha I got to show HIM somet hing for a change =)

A brief pause as we took shelter inside an unsuspecting st orefront. DAAAAAAAAANG its cold here! YES I am wearing BOTH my jackets! lol Don't hate.

"It's up to you, New York..."

I'm back and it's c-c-cooold! Well, my red-eye flight arrived safely at approximately 6:30 yesterday morning. After collecting baggage I caught a car to Manhattan; a comfortable trip considering the traffic demanding it take over an hour for me to arrive back at the apartment. I apparently left my room in quite the dither as I packed for holiday LOL so as I unpacked I also reorganized the place. At about 10am I headed over to the gym - call me crazy, but I just KNEW I would NOT go back out into the cold if I satisfied my sleep urge right then. 2 hours of sweat later I came home for a shower and bed. I quickly discovered the water was ICE so I nixed that idea as I jumped out as quickly as possible (probably with soap still all over me) and settled comfortable for my fur blanket, bed, and heater.

Today I had a casting at RED with an agent from Tokyo. Who knows. I had about 3 hours to kill until my next appointment so I headed back uptown to Vitamin Shoppe, Rite Aid, and grocery shopping. Pit-stop back at the apartment to cut lettuce and down a protein shake and I now realize it's time to head back out for the other casting calls. One's in Brooklyn and I'm not to excited for that trip! lol

I discovered today that Oscar de la Renta's show in the Domincan Republic went from being postponed to canceled. Ugh. Great news to start the new year off with right there! I'm kinda bummed out. =(

Anyways, I better get out there again. Best face forward! Love ya all, soak up some sun for me!

(BTW: look for a backdated holiday blog/video post, our attempts to post it back home were (obviously) unsucessful and I am hoping to have a chance to work on it this evening when I'm back in. xo)

Hello lovers!

I hope the holiday season has treated you and yours splendidly well, may our Lord's peace and blessings carry you through in confidence and comfort.

I cannot believe it is 2009! Wow.... what a whirlwind of experiences 2008 brought me. I am so thankful to everyone who loved me, supported me, prayed for me, and thought of me in 2008. You are appreciated. I have been so blessed by the many wonderful individuals I've been privileged enough to meet this year. A carefully chosen few have become dearly beloved friends.

I am hopeful, optimistic and confident as I approach 2009 and all the endeavors it holds ready for me to devour. Blessings, experiences and memory making opportunities I only dreamed possible will be my reality this year. I can be nothing else but prayerfully grateful for this future and I humbly request your continued prayers for my wisdom, safety, and success as I step out in faith this year.

I apologize for the absence of activity on my blog. I guess I really took to all aspects of "Holiday" and "Vacation". I have been saving memories via my CASIO camera (yes I have one that works now!) and below you can find the video I put together of this years' festivities. PLEASE ENJOY!
