Behind the Scenes
Today I met with a casting agent from RED Tokyo. Who knows! Then I headed uptown to Harlem for a photo shoot on location at a nearby park. It went splendidly - although extremely cold!!! Enjoy the above depiction of some behind the scenes fun!

Last night was the grand opening for a new club called Cain where a party for a designer named Jeremy Scott (?) was hosted. Here's jut a few shots of the "fun". I couldn't believe some people are already dressing up for Halloween ... sheesh

Is this for real?!
Hi all =)
Today was fantastic! Well, I woke up late (10am as opposed to 8am) darn snooze button ... must've hit something off kilter in my manic groggy state! But, nonetheless I got up, threw on my running sneakers and bolted out the door with my iPod in tune. Just a block west, past B'way is a tree-lined trail off the coast =) it's beautiful, especially now with the leaves changing to yellows and reds!
I had a few errands to "run" (pun intended!) after my exercise so I brought along a shopping list and my debit card planning to stop into Duane Reade and then D'ag groceries. Phew! I got it all accomplished in about an hours time - was very proud of myself =) Feeling energized and chilled, I returned home to a text message for another casting call; raising todays tally to 3. So I scrambled to unload everything in its proper place, and then throw together some sense of "model-esque" appearance to rush out the door!
Here's the exciting part ... as I'm waiting at my first casting I get a phone call from Wendy (agent/booker) asking if I remembered casting for Oscar de la Renta on Monday (of course I did) "They loved you! And are booking you for their show December 22 in (drum roll please ... ) the Dominican Republic!!! DR is an island situated between Jamaica & Puerto Rico ... yeah I didn't know where it was either! lol But it sounds warm =) So needless to say, I was speechless and am totally ecstatic! The fitting is Monday and I will know more detailed information afterwards.
I'm still kinda in shock I think ... this makes me an international model guys! wow - my first passport stamp =)
Anyways, of course I called my mom as SOON as I left that casting, and then had to call dad too! Then walked and walked and walked some more to castings around SoHo ... naturally the train routes were not condusive to these locations which always means more walking required. Usually never far enough to justify a taxi fair ... but far enough nevertheless. I just got home and immediately sat down with my cup of hot chocolate, warm and comfy, ready to blog =) Well, it wasn't really hot chocolate ... its a calcium enriched chocolate Ensure drink and I sprinkled cinammon on top hehe
I'm ready for a nap <3

Updraft
God is so faithful.
In the little things He never ceases to amaze. Always the encourager to my petty insecurities and needs. The photo shoot today was a bit lame, disjumbled, dissapointing. But, I do think a few good beauty shots will come of it - Joey (photographer) was confident in that. He does great work. Unfortunately I hung around from about 2:30 - 7pm for approximately 2 split-sessions of shooting that totaled probably 15 mins tops. That's what happens when people show up 2 1/2 hours late to their call times ... ehem NOT ME!
Anyways, the encouraging part was when I left the photo shoot, actually. Dodging rain drops all the way to the subway station a few blocks away... the F train from Brooklyn to Manhattan arrived as I got to the station. Unbelievable... brace yourselves...
On the exact train I arrived for... from the same car I was ready to board... through the same door I was waiting to enter... exited my dearest, loveliest, beautiful CANDICE!!!! Oh how my world just stopped to see her encouraging face at the end of this less-than-ideal day! Needless to say, we hopped around a bit in a huge girlfriend hug and then proceeded to stand & talk on the platform as about 3 more F trains to Manhattan passed us by ... I couldn't have cared less!! LOL it was SO extraordinary to see her for those few moments. Looking forward to catching up with her in a more condusive setting very soon. I knew I missed her sweet spirit but didn't fully realize how much! It's so amazing how just seeing a familiar smiling face can turn things around. Although constantly surrounded by people in this city, it is more reminiscent of a bumper-car arena mixed with a lions den, rather than a fellowship of friends!

Calling on Angels
I'm heading out for another photo shoot ... wish I was more excited. Please pray for me today. It's been a rough looong week/end for me emotionally. I'm struggling with being completely unmotivated (are you kidding?) extremely lonely, even depressed. I'm totally homesick and finally was able to let go and have a good cry this morning. I'm missing things, people, loved ones ... comfort and familiarity. Feeling safe and protected. I'm so vulnerable out here.
I apologize for such an uplifting entry today =( But I just really need your prayers this week. I need to feel them. I need a 180 degree turn around in my outlook, attitude, and focus. To feel the Lord's arms around me.
